Cost controller

Cost Center Accounting – Expense Management – Reporting and Analysis

🔥About the role

The future cost controller will work with the accounting and finance team to develop and implement cost centre accounting, cost control policies and procedures, and will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s costs are booked, controlled and within the budget.



📖 Main duties
Posting of all costs on cost centres in the ERP System MS Business Central 365 / CKL Cost Accounting

• Posting of the cost allocation based on various reference values and allocation keys

Managing all related documents in the Document Management System ELO

• Overseeing the process for the cost account budgets, cost allocation, cost unit and cost centre accounting

• Collaborating with the department managers to create procedures, and rules of implementing dimensions, reference values and allocation keys

Recording, analyzing, and reporting according to the company’s cost structure and policies

Coordinating with other departments to ensure that all costs are accurately tracked and within expected ranges

Conducting cost analyses to identify areas where costs can be reduced or eliminated

Monitoring budgets to ensure that spending does not exceed approved levels

Maintaining accurate records of project costs

• Expense Management for the sales team and technical team (Travel expenses, entertainment costs, trade fair costs, vehicle fleet costs)

• Checking on the compliance of the travel expenses; issuing monthly statistics

• Developing and implementing cost-saving initiatives

• Reporting on the cost types, cost centres, and cost units according to various dimensions

• Preparing weekly various financial reports by collecting and reprocessing financial data


🔎 Knowledge
Experience in a similar position: min. 5 years

Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting field

English language: professional level (German would be really nice to have);

Software: Elo, ERP (Navision/Microsoft Business Central 365) or similar

Expense Report Management software: N2F or similar

Excel / Power BI
